DAY 2

  • 4:00 AM – Hike from Sangalle to the Cabanaconde

Begin a challenging 4-hour and 30 minutes ascent from Sangalle to the summit of the Colca Canyon, where the trail leads to the village of Cabanaconde.

  • 8:30 AM – Arrival to Cabanaconde & Breakfast

Take this moment to relax, enjoy a warm local meal, and prepare for the next stage of the journey.

  • 9:15 AM – Transfer from Cabanaconde to Chivay

Transfer to Chivay village, enjoying scenic stops along the way to take in panoramic views, and relaxing spots.

  • 10:35 AM – Optional Visit to the Hot Springs

Immerse yourself in mineral-rich thermal waters surrounded by the serene beauty of the Andes.

  • 12:00 PM – Arrival to Chivay & Optional Lunch

Relax in warm, mineral-rich waters surrounded by Andean peaks. A rejuvenating experience after a day of travel.

  • 1:00 PM – Departure to Puno

Embark on a scenic transfer across the altiplano toward the city of Puno.

  • 1:30 PM – Patapampa Pass (4,900 meters / 16,000 feet)

Pause at the highest point of the route for panoramic views of the volcanic chain, including Misti, Chachani, and Ampato.

  • 2:30 PM – Salinas & Aguada Blanca National Reserve

Enjoy a brief stop at this protected area, home to native camelids such as vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas.

  • 4:30 PM – Lagunillas Viewpoint

Take in sweeping views of the highland lagoon and surrounding altiplano. During the dry season (May to August), Andean flamingos may be observed.

ABOUT ACCOMMODATION IN COLCA CANYON ON DAY 1

The accommodation consists of a basic room that may be shared with other travelers from the group. If you prefer a private room, this can be arranged for an additional fee, during the booking process. Please note that this experience is designed to immerse you in the local environment and natural surroundings. As such, the accommodation may differ significantly from standard hotel facilities.

ABOUT DROP OFF FOR ACCOMMODATIONS LOCATED OUTSIDE PUNO CITY ON DAY 2

Drop off service to hotels located outside the city of Puno, such as GHL Libertador, Casa Andina Premium, Sonesta Posadas del Inca, Lake Titicaca Hotel, Jose Antonio Hotels, or other remote accommodations or location as Kalapajra port can be arranged for an additional cost.


ABOUT THE COLCA CANYON ENTRANCE TICKET

This ticket is required for all visitors participating in the 2-day Colca Canyon tour. The proceeds help support the maintenance of roads and the preservation of the natural environment within the Reserve.
 

ABOUT MEALS

All meals are prepared by local hosts using regional ingredients such as potatoes, rice, vegetables, and quinoa. Vegetarian options are available and can be arranged on the same day.
Please note that lunch on Day 2 is not included, as it takes place in Chivay, where you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a buffet-style meal at your own expense.

CHANGES, CANCELLATIONS AND REFUND POLICIES

Change of Travel Date

  • Requests to change the travel date will be accepted up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled activity.

Cancellations

  • Cancellations submitted at least 24 hours before the scheduled activity are eligible for a full refund.

  • Cancellations submitted within 24 hours of the scheduled activity are non-refundable.

  • Cancellations due to circumstances beyond the control of either the company or the client (such as strikes, social conflicts, or natural disasters) may be refundable; however, the amount to be refunded will be subject to evaluation.

Refunds

  • For payments made via PayPal, refunds are processed immediately.

  • For payments made by credit or debit card, refunds may take several days depending on the policies of the issuing bank.
