San Miguel Viewpoint marks the starting point for the descent into the depths of the Colca Canyon.

Embark on a thrilling 4-hour hike deep into the heart of the Colca Canyon.
Along the way, marvel at majestic condors soaring overhead and take in breathtaking views as the trail crosses the canyon and the river below. The journey culminates in the charming village of San Juan de Chuccho.

Savor a traditional lunch prepared by locals in the charming village of San Juan de Chuccho, then continue your scenic hike through the heart of the canyon.

Continue with a scenic 3-hour hike along the opposite side of the Colca Canyon, passing through the traditional villages of Cosñirhua and Malata before reaching the lush oasis of Sangalle.

05:00 PM – Arrival at Sangalle

This lush oasis marks the end of our first day exploring the Colca Canyon. Unwind in the refreshing swimming pool, surrounded by warmth and natural beauty. Tonight, we’ll stay in a cozy local cottage (included).

DAY 2

04:00 AM – Hike from Sangalle to the Cabanaconde

Begin a challenging 4-hour and 30 minutes ascent from Sangalle to the summit of the Colca Canyon, where the trail leads to the village of Cabanaconde.

08:30 AM – Arrival to Cabanaconde

09:15 AM – Transfer to Chivay Village

Transfer to Chivay village, enjoying scenic stops along the way to take in panoramic views, and relaxing spots.

09:50 AM – Antahuilque Viewpoint

Admire ancient pre-Inca terraces carved into the canyon slopes—an enduring testament to Andean agricultural ingenuity.

10:35 AM – Optional visit to the Hot Springs

Relax in warm, mineral-rich waters surrounded by Andean peaks. A rejuvenating experience after a day of travel.

12:00 PM – Arrival to Chivay

01:30 PM – Patapampa Pass (4,900 meters - 16 000 feet)

A scenic photo stop at Patapampa. Reach the highest point of the route, where you’ll admire the majestic volcanic chain—including Misti, Chachani, and Ampato—rising above the horizon.

02:30 PM – Salinas & Aguada Blanca Reserve

A scenic photo stop at this natural sanctuary is home to graceful vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas grazing freely in their native habitat. A beautiful glimpse into Andean wildlife.

04:30 PM – Lagunillas Viewpoint

Enjoy sweeping views of the altiplano and a tranquil lagoon dotted with birds. A perfect spot for photos and a breath of fresh mountain air.

Depending on the season (May to August), the Andean flamingo can be spotted in the lagoon’s waters.

07:30 PM – Estimated arrival in Puno city

The accommodation consists of a basic room that may be shared with other travelers from the group. ABOUT MEALS

Breakfast will be provided on Days 1 and 2, while lunch and dinner will be served on Days 1. All meals are prepared by local hosts using regional ingredients such as potatoes, rice, vegetables, and quinoa. Vegetarian options are available and can be arranged on the same day.
Please note that lunch on Day 2 is not included, as it takes place in Chivay, where you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a buffet-style meal at your own expense.
