FULL-DAY TOUR TO THE BALLESTAS ISLANDS AND THE PARACAS NATIONAL RESERVE (START: 08:00 A.M.) At 8:00 a.m., we begin a full day of exploration across two of the most remarkable natural destinations on Peru’s southern coast: the Ballestas Islands and the Paracas National Reserve. The morning starts at the Paracas pier, where we board a speedboat bound for the Ballestas Islands. On the way, we stop to admire the mysterious Candelabro geoglyph, a vast figure etched into the sandy hillside and visible only from the sea. Its origin remains unknown, adding a sense of intrigue to the journey. As we approach the islands, the coastline comes alive: colonies of sea lions rest on the rocks, playful Humboldt penguins move between cliffs and caves, and thousands of seabirds fill the sky. It’s an exceptional opportunity to observe the richness of marine wildlife in its natural habitat. After the visit, we return to the town of Paracas to continue with the second part of the tour: the discovery of the Paracas National Reserve. Inside the reserve, we explore the viewpoints around the area known as La Catedral, where dramatic cliffs and rock formations reveal the power of the Pacific Ocean. From these panoramic spots, the vastness of the coastline unfolds in all its splendour. We then continue to Yumanque Beach, a peaceful and lesser‑known corner framed by golden cliffs and deep‑blue waters. Afterwards, we visit the iconic Red Beach, famous for the striking colour of its sand, created by the erosion of volcanic rock. The contrast between the red shoreline, the beige desert and the blue ocean creates a landscape that feels almost surreal. Throughout the route, we cross the spectacular Pacific deserts, vast plains and dunes that merge with cliffs and hidden bays, offering breathtaking views and countless photographic moments. A pause is made for lunch (not included), enjoyed within the reserve itself, surrounded by its unique natural scenery. The experience concludes in the town of Paracas around 3:00 p.m., after a day filled with nature, wildlife and unforgettable coastal landscapes.
