Service Description
HALF-DAY TOUR TO MARAS AND MORAY The half-day tour to Maras and Moray begins at 8:30 a.m. with a visit to the artisan centre in the village of Chinchero, where local families offer a demonstration of the traditional dyeing and weaving process used in their textiles, preserving ancestral techniques that remain alive today. The journey then continues to the Maras Salt Mines, a striking ensemble of thousands of salt pools that form one of the most unique landscapes in the Sacred Valley and have been exploited since pre-Inca times. Finally, the tour visits the agricultural terraces of Moray, an ancient agricultural laboratory made up of circular terraces that reveal the Incas’ advanced understanding of crop experimentation and microclimates. The return to the city of Cusco is scheduled for around 2:00 p.m., concluding a morning filled with culture, history, and impressive scenery.
