HALF-DAY TOUR TO THE INCA CEMETERY OF SILLUSTANI (13:30 – 18:00) Your afternoon begins at 1:30 p.m. with a scenic drive towards one of the most intriguing archaeological sites of the Peruvian Altiplano: the Inca Cemetery of Sillustani, renowned for its impressive chullpas, ancient funerary towers rising above the mystical Lake Umayo. As we travel through the highland landscape, the warm afternoon light enhances the colours of the puna and the stillness of the surroundings. Upon arrival, you explore this remarkable funerary complex, where both the Kolla and Inca cultures left behind monumental stone structures that continue to inspire awe. Walking among the chullpas, you learn about their rituals, beliefs, and the spiritual significance of this sacred place. On the way back to Puno, we make a special stop at a local family home, where you are welcomed with genuine hospitality. Here, you can observe their daily activities, discover traditional products, and gain insight into the rhythm of life in the rural highlands. We return to Puno around 6:00 p.m., enriched with a deeper understanding of the history, culture, and everyday life of the Andean communities.
